Review: Dr Jart+ Every Sun Day Perfect Sun Block SPF 50+ / PA+++

After hunting around for a new sunscreen, I came across this Dr Jart+ one in SaSa. The salesgirl recommended this after I mentioned to her that I didn't want anything overly sticky or heavy because my skin tends to get quite shiny as the day goes by. As an added bonus, the Dr Jart+ sun Block also came with a travel sized version of their Water-Sure Gel moisturizer. It is oil free and supposed to provide maximum hydration without being too sticky or heavy.

The sunscreen works well enough, it's still a touch too sticky for my liking but my main problem with the sunscreen is the scent.... this smells like a grandma that's just had her hair done...flowery sweet with a touch of baby powder...not my thing at all =/

The moisturizer is quite nice. I comes out as a gel but feels like water when you rub it on your skin. It smells very fresh and gets absorbed into the skin very quickly. I will probably repurchase the moisturizer when i run out =).

I hope this was helpful ;)

NYC BIG BOLD Bronzing Powder

Okay...this thing is HUGE!!

It was the first thing that grabbed my attention as I browsed the NYC display in Superdrug. Size aside, the NYC bronzing powder in Manhattan is a matte bronzer which is very smooth and blendable. The colour is quite neutral and not too orangey or muddy when applied to the face. The pigmentation of this is sheer but definitely buildable. This bronzer also lasted very well on my oily skin (about 5-6 hours).

The size of the actual compact makes it quite inconvenient to bring around on a day to day basis but it is still lovely for a natural contour and for a sun kissed glow. The NYC Big bold bronzing powder is amazing value for money because I picked it up for only 2.50 pounds for so much product. I've been using this bronzer for over three months now but it has hardly created a dent.

If the day ever comes when I hit pan or run out of this product,
I would definitely repurchase this bronzer.

Topshop highlighter in Sunbeam and Crescent Moon

Left: Crescent moon, Right: Sunbeam

Both compacts are identical in size and have a matte finish with 'scrawled on' stars.
*Does not come with a mirror*

As you can see from the swatches, Sunbeam is a shimmery true gold highlighter and Crescent moon is a shimmery pink champagne highlighter.

Pigmentation for both are excellent (This is definitely not a subtle highlight, use lightly unless you're going for that "Disco ball sparkle =P").

The texture is slightly chalky but still blendable and the lasting power for these are pretty good as well especially if you set it with a makeup setting spray.

Sunbeam is very yellow so i don't think it will be suitable for all skintones but it works well for my yellow based warm skin. Crescent moon is definitely a more universal colour and will suit a broad range of skin tones. It provides the skin with a healthy glow without leaving a white cast.

I like to use this on the tops of my cheekbones, above my cupids bow and along the bridge of my nose to emphasize my features

The Topshop highlighters are definitely a must have in my opinion but remember, a little goes a very long way =)

The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist

I LOVE THIS!!!

I use this ALL THE TIME for different purposes:

1) As a makeup setting spray, it leaves my skin looking dewy and healthy.

2) This facial mist really helps if I've over-powdered my face. A couple of spritzes stops my makeup from looking cakey.

3) I bring this with me on flights because it helps to moisturize my skin and has a pleasant rose scent which is really relaxing.

4) It works very well as a toner too =)

The packaging is a pink plastic bottle with a spray nozzle.
It dispenses a really fine mist which i prefer because it doesn't drip off my face.

Would i repurchase??......

Review: Lush Feeling Younger Skin tint

I've always been drawn to Lush products because they claim to be cruelty and paraben free, plus they use natural products which don't harm or irritate sensitive skin. I purchased this from a Lush store in Melbourne because i wanted to find a luminizer which i could mix into my foundation or concealer for a fresher and brighter look. The Sales girl also said that the skin tint could be mixed in with your daily moisturizer or eye cream to brighten your skin and undereye area.

It worked pretty well as a highlighter too, a little difficult to blend because of the absence of silicone's but well worth the effort if you want a healthy natural glow. The product comes in a little pot which you're then supposed to scoop out and use. It comes with quite a substantial amount of product which will definitely last you a very long time. A little goes a long way with this one, just make sure you are aware of the expiry date.

I would have preferred a pump because little pots like this can be unsanitary since you have to stick your fingers into the product which then increases bacterial growth...etc..
...let's leave out the gory details shall we xP

Lush is a company which is against animal testing =)

The finish of this product is an iridescent gold/pink which I really like. I can see it being flattering on different skintones. All in all, a really great product.

I hope this was helpful ;)

Review: Lioele Pop Orange tint

I've always liked the idea of tints and stains because they look more natural and last longer than regular lipstick or blush. The Lioele Pop orange tint comes in a cute little bottle that looks like nail polish. It has a brush tip applicator that you can use on your lips and cheeks. I prefer to apply it on the back of my hand and then use my real techniques stippling brush to apply it on my cheeks, work quickly though because this stuff sets and stains really quickly.

This tint is pretty sheer but the colour is definitely buildable. The texture is quite thick and creamy and it has this sweet candy scent which fades after application. I suggest popping on a hydrating lip balm before slapping this stuff on.

Stain left by tint: artificial light
For me, the stain doesn't really come off as orange, but more of a bright pink.
It's still pretty of course... just not quite what i expected it to be.
You can check out the other two colours on this website

It lasts very well even after eating and drinking so i definitely recommend this product for girls who don't like to reapply their lipstick every five minutes =P.

I hope this was helpful ;)

Review: Shills concealer

The Shills electric eyes concealer is a pink toned creamy concealer which i think is meant to be a dupe for Bobbi Brown's creamy concealer/ corrector. I wanted to like this concealer so badly...the packaging was so cute and the texture was creamy so i thought it would be amazing. Unfortunately , it turned out to be a sticky, ashy coloured mess when i tried to apply it to my blemishes and under eye area. This concealer settled and emphasized all the fine lines around my eyes as well. It might work on people with light skintones but for people with warmer skintones,i would advise you to stay away from this one.

I no longer use it as a concealer but more of a natural highlight for my cheekbones and nose bridge. Works well if you set it with powder.

Bottomline,
Would i repurchase??......

Maybe when hell freezes over

Review: Elizabeth Arden Rose Illumination Highlighter

I had been eyeing this particular product for quite awhile but it wasn't available in Malaysia so I quickly snagged one on my trip to Scotland...it was the last one!!!!. The packaging is a rose gold plastic, study and light with a mirror in the compact. The product itself is beautiful, very pigmented, smooth and a dream to apply on the face. It is a warm rosey pink with bronzey-gold shimmer which leaves a very healthy glow on the face. For light skin tones, this can be layered on blush for a lovely youthful look, for deeper skin-tones, this will look lovely as a highlighter. I've also used this as eye-shadow before and it is absolutely stunning. You can also pop on a dab of this in the center of your lip to make them look fuller and more three dimensional.

Isn't the packaging just sweet, the roses on it are so pretty ;)

Quick Review: Too Faced Blush in La Vie En Rose

This is a really pretty blue toned blush which is sheer but buildable, the shimmer in it brings a healthy youthful glow to the face. This blush lasted about 4-5 hours on my oily skin which was pretty decent.

The packaging is so cute, I love the pin-up girl on the box
The Blush is a blue-toned pink with Gold shimmer

I like this blush but I probably will not repurchase it because I tend to prefer warm toned/ coral blushes. Nevertheless, this is a really nice blusher which will be flattering for light to medium skin tones.

Korres Lip Butters in Wild Rose, Pomegranate and Mango

From left: Wild Rose, Pomegranate, Mango
After hearing so much hype about these, I finally managed to purchase three of the Korres Lip butters in Wild Rose, Pomegranate, and Mango when I traveled to Athens. These are AMAZING. My lips are really sensitive and tend to peel when I apply certain lip products but there was no irritation whatsoever with the Korres lip butters which are formulated without any mineral oil or parabens. These were also really hydrating and left a lovely tint on the lips. The colour of each one is pretty sheer but buildable. Oh and they smell fantastic too =). If you want to have a closer look at each one then keep reading.

Korres Lip Butter in Wild Rose

Looks really deep red and scary in the pot but is pretty sheer
when applied to the lips.

Gorgeous rose scented sheer red

Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate

quite a sheer warm pink, very flattering on the lips.
I'm not too sure how a pomegranate smells like but
this one smells sweet and tart at the same time.

Korres Lip Butter in Mango

This is probably my favorite out of the three because
i tend to love orange lip products. Smells like mango
candy and is very flattering on the lips.

Bottomline,
Would i repurchase??......
